I have been involved from the beginning by translating the book My Hero is You and making an audio version of the story in Sesotho. The audio book made consecutive rounds on some local radio stations in Lesotho (Two that I am aware of) and children were allowed to call and share their views and experiences on the impact of Corona virus in their communities. It was heart warming and very fulfilling to listen to this interactive process and lessons learned from the radio shows.
I then worked on more RADIO shows, whereby they commenced with script writing based on ‘Chat messages’ that were derived from the ‘Actions for Heroes’ guide book for teachers. The radio shows production commissioned Vision Street which engaged children actors to act out the chats. The shows were secured with Radio Lesotho and were broadcast over three weeks in July 2021. The reception was exceptionally well marked by the overwhelming number of children who called in during the shows.

Wales and Lesotho may be thousands of miles apart, but across both small countries there are wonderful shining stars. They are individuals whose energy and dedication burns bright, creating brighter futures for those around them.
