Lesotho is a constiutional Monarchy, like th UK. King Letsie III (pictured) is currently Lesotho's head of state. The Prime Minister is the executive head of government and is assisted by a Cabinet. The bicameral legislature comprises an 80-member, directly-elected Assembly (lower house) and a 33-member Senate which includes the 22 principal chiefs plus 11 chiefs nominated by the ruling party.
