Located in the south-eastern region of southern Africa, the Kingdom of Lesotho is surrounded on all sides by the Republic of South Africa, covering a total land area of 30,355 square kilometres.
Lesotho has a total population of 2.3 million people, approximately 77% of whom reside in the rural areas. The Capital city is Maseru. The people of Lesotho are called the Basotho and the language they speak is Sesotho although English is also widely spoken.
